General Sales Manager

Dextra India is looking for its General Sales Manager – Bar System products .

Based in Mumbai headquarters and reporting directly to the Director Sales & Marketing, you will lead the development of our Bar System business PAN INDIA with the support of local sales and marketing teams.

Main responsibilities:

Develop high level contacts with the designed civil/structural consulting firms, project consultants and ensure continued customer relationship management to secure the company’s long term business goals. Strategize to maximize visibility and brand awareness of our high performance Bars Systems, including marine tie rods, tension bars, fully threaded bars for geotechnical applications, post-tensioning bars and Conduct sales presentations to consultants and contractors involved in those projects, collect information about our client needs, propose technical solutions and recommendations using Dextra products and highlight the benefits to our clients in the aim to get our products specified and/or selected
Act as a subject matter expert on all technical enquiries coming from either clients or sales team
Provide technical trainings to internal and external customers and by supporting them in various design calculations/meetings as per existing civil codes and practices. This also consists of providing timely updates regarding the latest technical data and innovations in the industry.
Maintain quality in the technical solutions provided by Dextra and by indulging in risk avoidance. This also involves generating and documenting test reports and calculations as per corporate guidelines.
Maintenance of test equipment and ensuring accurate results by means of proper upkeep and timely calibration.
Developing the necessary skills and competencies to perform the duties to conduct the job related activities such as pre-sales calls, testing’s calculations etc. to develop adequate product/application knowledge through self-learning and through learning imparted by Dextra.
Participate in technical seminars and exhibitions to promote Dextra products and services to the industry
Preparing and updating Project List on a regular basis, review with your superior so as to provide the company with relevant and accurate information regarding the desired project and to communicate the same to all relevant departments by means of information leads.
Report all relevant market information collected during your sales meetings concerning competition, projects and prices and issue a monthly progress report of the activity
Participate to the determination of sales objectives and budgets, ensure that sales targets are met or exceeded in your responsible area
Propose new products developments, new applications and suggest improvements whenever the opportunity arises
Join weekly internal sales meeting with your colleagues and supervisor to validate sales strategy, refine tactics, exchange information and plan for the next actions
Organize follow-up visits and interact with the sales team on the status of the pending projects and sales achievements
Prepare prequalification documents and technical submission files in line with the company pricing policy and the environment of the project; propose your recommendations to your supervisor for final approval
Establish friendly and professional relationships with our clients ensure always a prompt and reliable service in your area of responsibility, contribute to the promotion of our company’s reputation and quality in the industry


Education: Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical or Industrial) from a leading Business School or University.
Experience: At least 10 to 15 years’ experience in a business development / sales role involving technical products and/or services within an international environment.
