Act as brand champion, and is voice of authority for Apple across customer and employee facing content
Responsible for in-country editing of Apple customer facing marketing and demo materials, as well as employee facing content such as Comms, Training, recruitment and job sites.
Partners with Apple Marcom editing teams to ensure alignment with the Apple tone of voice, ensuring clarity and accuracy of translations, and maintaining the highest possible standards. Responsible for developing and maintaining a consistent tone of voice, personality and cultural relevancy for their language and country. Leverage Apple Marcom glossaries and style guides (for customer facing content), and manage the creation and updating of specific Style Guides as well as updating Glossaries and terminology / DNT lists
Responsible for selecting, onboarding and supporting a network of Validators who edit employee facing translations such as Training, Comms and Systems. This includes ensuring a consistent tone of voice appropriate for Apple Store employees
Drive linguistic quality through translation vendors. Responsible for selecting, training and providing ongoing feedback on translation quality. Train lead linguistics from approved vendors, using materials and programs provided by Apple. Provide ongoing linguistic guidance, and partner with the Apple Transcreation Manager on developing action plans to address quality issues
Host regular meetings and calls with translation vendors to discuss issues and provide guidance. As appropriate these meetings may be face to face, or on a conference or WebEx calls:
Lead Linguist (weekly)
Validator team meeting with other outsourced Validators covering same country (weekly)
Vendor translation network with Lead Linguist, Translators and Reviewers (monthly)
Attend weekly check-in / status calls with Apple Globalization team
Maintain scorecard of translation quality by vendor in WorldServer through the Linguist Quality Metrics program. Look for trends, and develop action plans with other Validators and the Apple Transcreation Manager to address quality issues as needed
Owns the relationship with the store team in their host city, visiting once every 2 weeks. Acts as the Apple Globalization eyes and ears in-store, providing critical feedback on local market content. Feedback will be used by the Apple Globalization team to enhance the quality of materials and ultimately improve the customer experience
As needed, attends meetings and works in Apple regional / country head office to attend meetings with cross functional groups in Marketing, Communications, HR/Staffing, Systems and Training
Attends bi-annual global validation meetings in US or international location as defined by Apple
Responsible for submitting weekly project traffic reports
